Ravioli

A kid’s favorite! This very popular pasta is usually filled with meat or cheese that is placed between two layers of flat pasta and sealed at the edges. Ravioli. It is most commonly topped with tomato sauce but can really be topped with any sauce and filled with anything you desire. It all depends on preference. There are even dessert versions of ravioli that are filled with sweets such as chocolate.

Tortellini

Tortellini is another type of pasta that is generally stuffed with meat or cheese then sealed but this is finished off by forming it into a ring. It too can be topped with any kind of sauce or ragu – a meat sauce.

Lasagna

In America, this is often seen as a feel good, homey dish. This is sheets of pasta that is layered in a rectangular dish with cheese and ragu – a meat and tomato sauce. It can take a little while to prepare and cook but is well worth the wait. Plus, it can be prepared ahead of time and frozen so all you have to do it take it out of the freezer and throw it in the oven!

Jumbo Shells

This is a larger, jumbo version of conchiglie, otherwise known as shell pasta. These super-size shells are generally used for stuffing, usually with cheese.
